Checklist to Pull Off Your Dream Destination Wedding
In order to get married out of country you would be smart to inquire about the laws of the country where you plan on having the ceremony. Making sure beforehand that it can even be done in that country is the first big step. Doing research on the countries laws on marriage and out-of-country visitors will help you decide if it is worth the bother before you go to the trouble of booking the trip.
Another very important thing to inquire about would be if the marriage would be legal in your home country once you return. It would be terrible if you found out, say a year down the road, that your marriage cannot be legally recognized in your country because the governing laws on marriage are different in the country of the ceremony. Checking to see that blood work does not need to be done is another aspect to remember. Once all these factors are checked, your trip and wedding may be planned.
Once all that is in order, it might not be a bad idea to inform people, such as your employer, of your impending trip, so provisions may be made in your absence. Notifying people who would have assumed that you are going to marry nearby, and were expecting an invitation should definitely be advised as well. If you are wishing them to be there, they also need to make proper arrangements for the trip. It is a must that you inform both sets of parents. Realistically they do have a right to know where you will be, so that they do not worry. They will more than likely want to make the trip as well.
If you do not already have a passport, this will need to be taken care of, and should be done quite a while prior to the trip. You must make time allowances for government documents to arrive. It is not advisable to leave it to the last minute. If you do, you may find yourself making new plans for your trip at a later date. You will need to find suitable accommodation and in the event of planning the honeymoon somewhere other than the country where you'll be getting married, that too will need to be arranged.
Once all these major details are sewn up, finding an officiator to do the ceremony will be the next logical step. Many places abroad have ministers of all faiths to accommodate such an endeavor. These services welcome such events, as it brings economy to their country and boosts their financial situation. You can turn to the Internet to search for an appropriate officiator to have the service performed. You can find this information out if you contact the clerk of records and licenses in the country where you plan to get married.
Choosing a tropical climate? It would be wise to stay on top of the weather patterns of the region for a while prior to the trip, to ensure you are not walking into tropical storm months or seasonal upsets associated with the region. It would be horrible if you went all the way down to a tropical island for a planned wedding, only to be caught up in some of Mother Nature's temper tantrums.
For obvious reasons it is always good to get travel insurance, in the event of an accident or serious injury abroad. Something happening in a remote location without insurance could easily amass a large debt, or even worse. So plan safe, and plan ahead. This could be an amazing destination wedding, or without much thought on the matter an unreal disaster. Good luck.

Choosing A Destination
The best places for you to host destination weddings don't have to be the fanciest or most expensive. For example, you don’t have to go to Hawaii to host a Hawaiian themed wedding.
Destination Wedding Ideas
A good destination wedding package can be made available in every shape, budget and size. You can look for all-inclusive destination wedding packages, which cover everything from your flight reservations to hotel rooms to outfits for the entire wedding party should your wedding take place out of town. Or you might be interested in a smaller package, which includes the chapel service, flowers, and a cake for your special day.
